SJN and Mesa Community College are very pleased to announce the next Mesa meeting of SJN Southeast Valley on the evening of August 13, 2009.
SJN Southeast Valley is a collaboration among Southwest Job Network (formerly Scottsdale Job Network), Mesa Community College and Chandler-Gilbert Community College. This employment support group will continue to meet on the 2nd and 4th Thursday evenings of each month.
You are invited to join us on Thursday evening, August 13, for an evening workshop, session five of our six-part Job Search Process Curriculum:
Interviewing Skills, Part I
In Part I of Interviewing Skills, participants will hear a realistic view of the interview process.
The program will address misunderstandings about interviews, de-mystify the interview process and calm your concerns.
Interviewing Skills I will include an explanation of the types of interviews you may face and assistance to prepare for answering common interview questions.
Facilitator, Eric Walton, is a founding Board member of SJN. Eric frequently makes presentations at SJN meetings on a variety of career transition topics. Eric is the Chief Operating Officer at Tiempo Development, a software development firm based in Tempe, AZ and has software engineers located in Hermosillo, Mexico. Eric is a senior executive with over 25 years of experience in the computer and high tech industry, ranging from the dot.com startup to the Fortune 500. Eric received a BS in Business Management from University at Albany and a MBA from the University of Arizona.

In an effort to address SJN members' interest in connecting and networking with each other within the same specialty as a means of support, SJN SEV is implementing SJN Specialty Support Groups, as introduced by SJN North Phoenix in July. The specialty group designations are:
#1 - Sales and Marketing (B2B and B2C, Retail, Insurance, Management)
#2 - Human Resources (Generalist, Learning and Development, Senior, Benefits)
#3 - Information Technology (Management, Project)
#4 - Manufacturing / Support (Engineering, Technical, Production, Support, Operations, Management)
#5 - Media and Communications (Business, Print, Electronic)
#6 - Administrative Assistant and Support Personnel
#7 - Education (K-12, College, Adult Learning, Administration, Management)
#8 - Healthcare (Clinical, Non-Clinical)
#9 - Real Estate and Construction (Residential, Commercial, Industrial)
#10 - Finance and Accounting (Internal, Banking, Investing, Management)
#11 - Non-Profit (Grassroots, Management, Administration)
#12 - Business Executive (Director and above)
Registration and Fees
There is no cost for this seminar, courtesy of collaboration with the Mesa Community College.
Voluntary donations will be much appreciated to assist in funding ongoing operating costs for this group.
Due to limited seating capacity, pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will be seated on a space available basis.
